Diary Post New Entry

2016 January 1 to January 17th

Slow easing into the new year.  Last week we walked around looking for any damage incurred over the summer. We went down as far as the harbour inlet/stream and found a couple of spots that need a bit of clearing. Derek is very good with his saw. We found a very odd noise in a tree at the edge of the inlet. It was not a cicada and seemed too regular to be an insect. Martin took a sound recording of it and is looking for answers to the mystery.

Last Sunday Martin brought his before and after folio and took photos from all the same spots and angles. It is astounding how much the plantings have grown and how different the vista looks from the various vantage points since we started the project in 2006/7/.

Martin and Derek then went on to the bottom of the valley again and Martin took the best photos of Fantails and a Morepork. Astonishing to have a Morepork visible during the day.  We will put up Martin's photos when Pat finds out how to do it.
